Payroll Assistant Manager

A rare opportunity has arisen to work as a Payroll Assistant Manager. Reporting to the HR Director, you will deal with the full payroll cycle. We are looking for someone with previous payroll experience to join the team.  
Essential Skills
  • At least 2/3 years experience of working within a payroll administrative environment
  • Good working knowledge of SAGE 50 Payroll
  • Minimum B in GCSE Maths or equivalent
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Competent user of the Microsoft office suite
  • Great organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Be a team player as well as being able to work on your own
  • Supporting the preparation of the weekly/monthly payroll, ensuring that payroll is disbursed accurately within the cycle
  • Calculation and payment of termination payments
  • Payment and reconciliation of bonus and overtime payments
  • Processing increases, calculation of back pays and payroll deductions
  • Calculating annual leave entitlement manually
  • Processing starters and leavers information
  • Ensure prompt maintenance of staff records at all times including archiving and filing
  • Producing payroll reports for the Accounts Department
  • Resolving all pay queries and correction of errors
  • Accurately inputting data on to the SAGE payroll system
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail
  • Answering the telephone and responding to general enquiries from internal and external sources
  • Liaising with other team members and functions
  • Manually calculating statutory payments
  • RTI submissions
  • Managing and processing pensions into different schemes
  • Other reasonable ad hoc duties

Starting salary £35,000 p.a. depending on experience

Role Type

Permanent - full time, office based (9am-5pm Monday-Friday total 37.5hrs per week)
